WordPress hosting in Nepal: how to choose (2026 guide)

Search for “best WordPress hosting in Nepal” and you’ll find dozens of lists, most of them written by hosting companies ranking themselves first. Hosting has a direct effect on how fast your site loads, how often it goes down, and how easily you can recover when something breaks, so it’s worth choosing carefully. This guide explains what actually matters, then compares a few popular Nepali providers using the details they publish.

Local or international hosting?

The main question is where your visitors are.

Paying from Nepal: international hosts charge in US dollars. Individuals in Nepal usually pay with a prepaid dollar card from their bank, and those cards are typically capped at around USD 500 a year, so check your bank’s current limits before committing to a large annual plan.

Whichever you choose, putting a free CDN such as Cloudflare in front of the site helps visitors everywhere by serving images and static files from a location near them.

Shared, managed WordPress, or cloud?

TypeGood forWatch out for
Shared hostingBrochure sites, small blogs, new businessesResource limits and slow-downs caused by other sites on the server
Managed WordPress hostingBusiness sites that want updates, caching, and backups handledPlugin restrictions and higher renewal prices
VPS or cloud hostingWooCommerce stores, busy sites, custom applicationsNeeds someone to set up and maintain the server

Most small business sites in Nepal start comfortably on good shared or managed WordPress hosting. Move to a VPS or cloud server when the site is clearly outgrowing it, for example a busy WooCommerce store, rather than paying for one from day one.

What to check before you buy

Popular Nepali WordPress hosts compared

These are four widely used Nepali providers, listed alphabetically. This isn’t a ranking: prices and features below come from each provider’s own website in October 2026 and are starting prices, usually for a multi-year term. Check current prices and renewal rates before you buy.

ProviderWordPress plans fromHighlightsPay with
Babal Host Rs 120/month (3-year term) SSD storage; JetBackup incremental off-site backups kept for 30 days eSewa, Fonepay, Stripe, bank transfer
Himalayan Host Rs 100/month Operating since 2007; LiteSpeed with LSCache; automatic backups; Kathmandu and US data centres listed Local billing (check methods)
Nest Nepal Rs 90/month (3-year term, excl. VAT) NVMe storage; weekly backups on the entry plan, daily on higher plans; file and RAM limits published per plan eSewa, Khalti, Fonepay, bank transfer
Prabhu Host Rs 200/month Managed WordPress; NVMe storage; daily backups with one-click restore; malware scanning eSewa, Khalti, IME Pay, ConnectIPS, Fonepay, cards, bank transfer

Entry plans from all four cost a few thousand rupees a year, which is fine for a small site. For a business site or online store, compare the mid-range plans instead: that’s where differences in backups, resources, and support really show.

Before you sign up

  1. Shortlist two or three hosts that meet the checklist above.
  2. Ask each one where your server will be, what the renewal price is, and how restores work.
  3. Pay monthly or yearly at first if you can, even if it costs a little more, until you’re sure you’re happy.
  4. Register your domain in your own name, separately from your hosting if possible, so you can move hosts easily.
  5. After launch, run your site through PageSpeed Insights and follow my speed optimization checklist.
